I started Emily Welkins back in 2011. Being a curious person eager to discover new things, a multidisciplinary scientist, and a prolific academic writer (sometimes called by my adversaries "a Renaissance man” for that), I wanted to show my colleagues (and the whole world) that science can be fun. Over the years, as I was working hard on popularizing science, I have encountered lots of misunderstanding, hatred, or cyberbullying from many fellow scientists (and even from some of my friends and colleagues).
